SSR Mining Inc. is an intermediate gold company with assets located in four jurisdictions: the USA, Türkiye, Canada, and Argentina. These assets are located within several of the world’s most prolific precious metal districts including the Çöpler mine along the Tethyan belt in Türkiye; the Marigold mine along the Battle Mountain-Eureka trend in Nevada, USA; the Seabee mine along the Trans-Hudson Corridor in Saskatchewan, Canada; and the Puna mine along the Bolivian silver belt in Jujuy, Argentina.

The Challenge
In 2021, SSR Mining started a search to find a software solution to centralize all Health, Safety, Environment and Community information. At the time, SSR was relying on manual spreadsheets to manage its Health and Safety data across operations. While this approach provided a basic level of tracking, it posed significant limitations in terms of data accuracy, accessibility, and scalability. Manual processes made it difficult to consolidate information, identify trends, and respond proactively to potential risks.
Furthermore, there was a vision of growth and acquisition, and so this was going to require a consistent system across all operations.
The Evaluation
The SSR Mining team went through a formal RFP process, with the team leading the search having spent over 40 years at other mining companies and seeing a variety of solutions. While the goal was to have a single, consolidated solution for all HSEC information, the initial scope was focused on core Health and Safety modules, with a specific focus on risk management.
After evaluating the leading software solution providers on the market, SSR Mining selected IsoMetrix for its experience in mining, previous successful experience from users at other companies, its risk-centric approach, and the ability to start with a set of modules and users that could scale over time.
The Results
With 4 years’ worth of data in the system now and global operations using IsoMetrix, SSR Mining can see a continuous improvement in safety performance and risk management. Capturing on average 3400 LIFs and 800 Critical Control Verifications per month, SSR Mining is focused on proactive risk management and incident prevention. SSR are continually enhancing the IsoMetrix site to align with evolving best practice standards, ensuring the promotion of responsible and sustainable operational practices. In 2025, SSR Mining acquired a new mining asset from Newmont, and feedback during onboarding highlighted the ease of use compared to the enterprise EHS solution they had used while at Newmont.
In addition to H&S Management, the Social and Environmental teams are benefiting from IsoMetrix. The Sustainability team leverages the IsoMetrix Social solutions to effectively plan and manage stakeholder engagements. Grievance management and Community Investment modules, including Community Development Projects (CDP), Community Development Committee (CDC), Commitments, Donations, and Local Procurement Metrics, help the Sustainability effectively manage its Social Responsibility commitments. Commitments and obligations from Permits, Licenses and Management plans are effectively managed by the social and environmental teams alike.
