How to use the CO2 calculator?

Instructions for Input Fields:

  • Name or Company: Enter your name or the company name.
  • Location (Country/Region): Enter your country or region. This is important to calculate energy-related emissions, as energy sources vary by location.
  • Time Period (Monthly, Annually, etc.): Choose the time period (monthly, yearly, etc.) for which you want to calculate your emissions.

Energy Consumption:

  • Electricity Usage (kWh): Enter the total kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity used. You can find this on your electricity bill.
  • Energy Source: Select the energy source you primarily use (grid, solar, wind, hydro). This may be noted on your energy bill or based on your known energy source.
  • Natural Gas Consumption (m³): Enter the amount of natural gas used in cubic meters (m³). This information can be found on your gas bill.
  • Heating Oil/Propane Consumption (L): Enter the volume of heating oil or propane used in liters (L). Check your fuel provider invoices or receipts for this data.

  • Number of Manufacturing Sites: Enter the number of manufacturing facilities you operate. This data can be obtained from your internal business records.
  • Number of Distribution Centers: Enter the number of distribution centers your company operates. This information can be found in your logistics or operations department.
  • Number of Administrative Offices: Enter the number of office locations (administrative sites). You can find this in your business office records.

Transportation:

  • Vehicle Type: Select the type of vehicle you use for transportation (car, truck, motorcycle, electric vehicle). This can be found based on the vehicles your company owns.
  • Fuel Type: Select the fuel type your vehicle uses (gasoline, diesel, hybrid, electric). Check your vehicle’s registration or fuel receipts.
  • Distance Traveled (km): Enter the total distance traveled by the vehicle in kilometers. You can track this using vehicle odometers or trip logs.

Air Travel:

  • Flight Type: Choose the type of flight (domestic or international).
  • Flight Distance (km): Enter the total distance traveled by air in kilometers. You can use online flight distance calculators to get this information.
  • Number of Flights per Year: Enter the total number of flights taken in a year. You can track this by checking your flight booking history.

Shipping and Distribution:

  • Number of Countries Sold/Shipped To: Enter the total number of countries where your products are sold or shipped. This can be obtained from your sales or distribution records.
  • Shipping Method: Select the primary shipping method used (air, sea, rail, road). Check your logistics or shipping provider for this information.
  • Average Shipping Distance (km): Enter the average distance your products are shipped in kilometers. This can be calculated using shipping routes or logistics data.

Waste and Recycling:

  • Amount of Waste Generated (kg): Enter the total amount of waste generated in kilograms. You can obtain this data from waste management reports.
  • Percentage of Waste Recycled (%): Enter the percentage of waste that is recycled. This data can be found in your waste management records or recycling reports.
