Robin Bolton, Executive: Sustainability at IsoMetrix will be part of the esteemed speakers’ line-up at the 2020 virtual event, The Joburg Indaba. The annual event is now in its eighth year and is set to take place on October 7 and 8. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event will be held as an online conference.
The popular mining industry event hosted by Resources for Africa draws together industry leaders, influential CEOs and investors to map the way forward and unlock the value in Africa’s resources and mining sectors.
The conference is well known for being a highly regarded and influential platform to address issues affecting stakeholders in the mining industry. It will feature local and international experts sharing their perspectives on how the industry can be revitalized post COVID-19.
IsoMetrix – that just announced the release of a new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) software solution to manage risk and ease the reporting burden – is a key sponsor and will be delving into the important topic of ESG in detail at the conference.
Robin is thrilled to be part of the exciting line-up and will be presenting on October 8 at 11h30 (Johannesburg Time). “I will be sharing my experience and insight on ESG gained from engaging with mining companies and other industries as well as from designing and implementing ESG solutions,” explained Robin.
His presentation: How are companies responding to an increased focus on ESG and Corporate Governance will cover:
- How mining companies are incorporating ESG into their corporate strategy
- What factors are driving the increased focus on ESG and how COVID-19 has influenced this
- How mining companies are mitigating ESG risks
- How mining ESG policies compare to other industries and what the mining industry needs to do to make ESG stand out
This year’s conference will be chaired by Bernard Swanepoel and include prominent industry speakers such as Minister Gwede Mantashe, Mark Cutifani from Anglo American, Mark Bristow from Barrick Gold Corporation, Dr. Martyn Davies from Deloitte, Nolitha Fakude from Anglo American: South Africa and Boipelo Lekubo from Harmony Gold Company.
