Stiaan is a qualified veterinary surgeon and specialised in Toxicology. He worked in research toxicology before joining the Dow Chemical Company, where he served as the Responsible Care Leader for South Africa, with responsibilities for Environmental, Health and Safety and Responsible Care. He was responsible for the sustainability reporting of Sasol for twelve years and also served for six years until December 2017 on the GRI’s Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB) as business and Africa representative. He is still a member of Integrating Reporting Committee of South Africa’s working group.
Stiaan joined Tiger Brands in January 2018 as Sustainability and External Reporting Director.
Silvana has extensive experience providing both government institutions as well as large international corporations and SMEs with strategic solutions to an increasing number of challenges related to the transition to a carbon constrained economy. Silvana specialises in matters related to the Carbon Tax Act No 15 of 2019 and the National Greenhouse Gas Emission Reporting Regulations of 2017. And because of her background as a CDM auditor, she also identifies carbon credit projects and can assist firms with the development of “hidden” carbon. Silvana has been involved with the South African carbon market since 2011 when she relocated here from Europe.
Moroasereme is the founder and current MD of Nexus Sustainability. He holds a BSc. Engineering degree, an MBA, a PGD and an MPhil in Sustainability, and a Certificate in Executive Coaching. He has enjoyed a varied career, which spans Energy, Corporate Finance, Technology Development and Innovation, and now Corporate Sustainability, which culminated in the establishment of Nexus Sustainability Consultancy in 2017.
